Special Weather Statement issued November 10 at 12:46PM CST by NWS Topeka
…Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of western Shawnee,
eastern Wabaunsee, southeastern Pottawatomie and southwestern Jackson
Counties through 115 PM CST…
At 1245 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 5 miles north of Belvue to 3 miles northwest of
Maple Hill to 5 miles southwest of Eskridge. Movement was northeast
at 40 mph.
HAZARD…Winds in excess of 40 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Northwestern Topeka, Rossville, Eskridge, St. Marys, Dover, Silver
Lake, Auburn, Hoyt, Maple Hill, Paxico, Belvue, Emmett, Delia,
Willard, Potawatomi Reservation and Keene.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 70 between mile markers 332 and 355.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 167 and 169.
