The Third Annual Jason Adams Memorial Trap Shoot was held on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Despite the 100 degree temperature, a large crowd gathered at the Centralia Lake for lunch, a silent auction, and trap shooting.

Each year the family of Jason Adams chooses where the trap shoot proceeds will be distributed to. This year they chose to give the proceeds to the Centralia, Corning, and Seneca Fire Departments. These three fire departments were presented a check for $1000 each. The money will be used to purchase safety equipment or whatever the fire departments are in need of. The family chose to done to the fire departments this year because Jason was a proud member of the Centralia Volunteer Fire Department.

Besides donating to the fire departments this year, $500 was donated to the new Corning City Park that will begin construction next spring. Each year proceeds from the trap shoot also fund a $1,000 Jason Adams Memorial Scholarship for a senior from Centralia High School; as well as $1,000 is donated for the Centralia 4th of July Fireworks display.

These donations, in Jason’s memory, would not be possible without the continued support of this community.
