The following accidents were recently reported:

Dec. 30, 10:46 a.m.: Victor E. Perry, 67, Lawrence, was traveling west on K-16 Highway and was making a right hand turn onto 82nd Street. A vehicle also traveling westbound driven by Gail L. Coleman-Pease, 56, Kansas City, Mo., did not see Perry’s vehicle slowing in time and swerved into the path of Perry’s vehicle.

Jan. 3, 10:45 a.m.: Leanna G. Hickman, 52, Oskaloosa, was at Marion Road and the intersection of Ferguson Road. Hickman began to roll out onto Ferguson Road when a vehicle heading northbound on Ferguson Road driven by Dennis Kempe, 64, Ozawkie, struck Hickman’s vehicle.

Jan. 5, 5:36 p.m.: Jean K. Phillips, 46, Perry, was stopped in the northbound lane of U.S. 59 Highway waiting to turn left onto 21st Street. A vehicle traveling northbound on U.S. 59 Highway driven by Kerry L. Navinskey, 40, Nortonville, did not see Phillips’ vehicle. Phillips pulled into the southbound lane and Navinskey’s vehicle sideswiped her vehicle.

Jan. 7, 7:57 p.m.: Jimmy D. Reed, 51, Winchester, was traveling on U.S. 59 Highway near Buckcreek Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the ditch.

Jan. 9, 8:43 a.m.: George R. Pentlin, 63, Oskaloosa, was driving a county owned vehicle that was towing a culvert on U.S. 59 Highway near 110th Street. A strap holding the culvert snapped causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
