Crash closes US-24 highway in Jeff County

A two-vehicle accident early Friday in Jefferson County has shut down US-24 highway near Williamstown.

Kansas Highway Patrol officials said the crash, which occurred around 2 a.m., involved a semi-trailer truck and a pickup truck.

There was no immediate word on the extent of injuries in the crash.

Kristie Qualls, Kansas Department of Transportation spokeswoman, said all lanes of east- and westbound US-45 were closed west of the US-24-US-59 highway junction near Williamstown to Roadside Park near Perry because of the accident.
