Joshua Eugene Montgomery, 23, Valley Falls, died Jan. 12, 2012, at a Topeka hospital.
He was born April 12, 1988, at Winchester, the son of James Roland and Teresa Church Montgomery.

He graduated from Valley Falls High School in 2006 where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and played co-rec softball.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served for four years. He attained the rank of corporal serving in Okinawa and Iraq.
Survivors include his parents; three sisters, Brenda, Haley and Alyssa Montgomery; grandparents, Barbara Montgomery and Wayne and Carol Church, all of Valley Falls; and great-grandmother, Velma Church, Oskaloosa.
The funeral service was Jan. 16 at the Valley Falls Schools’ east gymnasium. Burial, with full military honors, was at the Valley Falls Cemetery.
