Firemen from the Oskaloosa township and surrounding districts worked quickly on Monday afternoon to contain a fire to the garage of a residence at 717 S. Union St. in Oskaloosa.
The fire started from a busted fuel line that caught fire on a truck that was parked in the garage according to the home’s resident Greg Rankin. He said he was working on the truck with the engine running when all of a sudden the motor stopped running and fuel began spilling. Rankin said the fire was out of control and started in the direction of his fire extinguisher.
