Trucker injured by errant rock

A trucker was injured Wednesday night in Jefferson County when a large rock came through the windshield of his rig, striking him in the face, authorities said.

The accident was reported at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday on US-24 highway about a mile and a half east of Perry.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Roberto Chevez-Enamorado, 49, of Independence, Mo., was driving a 2003 Freightliner semitrailer east on US-24 highway at the time of the accident.

The patrol said a large rock crashed through the windshield of the truck Chevez-Enamorado was driving.
