Shawnee County Parks and Recreation announced this week that Ward-Martin Creek in Auburndale Park, 2400 S.W. Perry, has been stocked with trout by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism as part of its Community Fisheries Assistance Program.
Trout are a cold-weather fish not normally found in Kansas, where the trout fishing season runs from Oct. 15 to April 15. Trout is restocked throughout the season at Ward-Martin Creek, located southeast of N.W. MacVicar Avenue and Interstate 70.
