Westphalia Fire Department gets new equipment

Anderson County Advocate – October 22, 2013
Submitted by Newz Group Clipping Service – November 5, 2013

The Westphalia Fire Department has received the thermal imaging camera, trained on it and now it is in service. The department raised $3,000 dollars for it with the county paying an additional $1500. Also the department has received a significant donation from Coffey County EMS. They received a 1999 medtech Ambulance that was recently retired from their fleet of vehicles. It replaces the 1993 Wheel Coach First Responder Vehicle. The unit is in great shape with more power; with power stroke 7.2 engine, a good working air conditioning and heater, all the emergency lights working and simply a lot more reliable truck due to advance engineering. However, the unit does have more mileage on it than the older unit.
