   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     Extreme west central Illinois
     Missouri

   * Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 205 PM until
     1000 PM CDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible
     Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
       mph likely
     Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events
       to 2 inches in diameter possible

   SUMMARY...Scattered severe storm development is expected this
   afternoon along and ahead of a cold front moving from Kansas toward
   western Missouri.  The storm environment will initially favor
   supercells capable of producing a couple of strong tornadoes, large
   hail, and damaging winds.  Later this evening, the threat for wind
   damage will increase as storms evolve into a more linear mode toward
   eastern Missouri, while the threat for tornadoes will persist with
   circulations embedded in the line of storms.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 95 statute miles
   east and west of a line from 10 miles east northeast of Kirksville
   MO to 55 miles south southeast of Springfield MO. For a complete

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.

   AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
   surface and aloft to 2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
   gusts to 65 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
   storm motion vector 24045.
