…Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of northwestern
Franklin, Jefferson, southeastern Morris, Shawnee, southeastern
Wabaunsee, Douglas, Osage, Jackson, northwestern Coffey, Brown and
Lyon Counties through MIDNIGHT CDT…
At 1125 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles east of Reserve to 4 miles south of
Tecumseh to 9 miles west of Olpe. Movement was east at 35 mph. The
strongest wind gust will be associated with an outflow boundary about
10 miles ahead of the line of thunderstorms.
HAZARD…Winds of 40 to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Topeka, Lawrence, Emporia, Baldwin City, Holton, Hiawatha, Osage
City, Sabetha, Council Grove, Horton, Carbondale, Valley Falls,
Rossville, Oskaloosa, Eskridge, Tecumseh, Eudora, Richland, Dover and
Silver Lake.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 35 between mile markers 128 and 172.
Interstate 70 between mile markers 338 and 355.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 117 and 205.
