Wednesday morning update: Trego County Emergency Management Director Kathleen Fabrizius told Hays Post Tuesday’s fire was caused by bearing that became overheated on a combine in a milo field. The fire burned less than 5 acres. There were no injuries. ”A lot of milo is down,” she said and we may see a lot of overheated bearings this fall.”
Tuesday 4:45 p.m. Trego County Rural Fire has been dispatched to report of a grass fire near 400th and K road. Few details are available at this hour. There had been some confusion
in locating the fire. It was originally reported at 200th and K Road.
