Local governing bodies this coming week will elect a Shawnee County Commission chairperson and consider expressing support for the establishment of a “Victory Village” housing complex targeted at serving homeless veterans.
County commissioners will elect a chairperson and vice-chairperson when they meet at 10 a.m. Monday in their chambers in Room B-11 of the county courthouse, 200 S.E. 7th.
The meeting will be preceded by a 9 a.m. swearing-in ceremony in Room 402 at the courthouse for incoming commissioners Bob Archer and Kevin Cook.
