The Great Overland Station and Operation Lifesaver are offering free rides in Union Pacific passenger cars at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday.
Seats, which can be reserved by calling 232-5533, are limited.
The Educational Excursion Rides will depart from behind the station and return an hour later.
Program coordinator Genevieve Nichols said the cars work on a push-pull system. The cars will be tugged to Grantville, she said, and pushed back to the station.
