A brazen theft from the south Topeka Walmart that netted the thief more than a quarter of a million dollars in cash and receipts remains unsolved more than a year later.
On Nov. 26, 2011, a man walked into the S.W. 37th Street Walmart after 3 a.m. and walked out six minutes later with more than $250,000.
It had been a busy day, as employees scrambled to keep up with the Black Friday sales shoppers.
Few, if anyone, noticed the stocky white man with a shaved head who was clad in a tan Carhartt-like jacket, jeans and wore black horn-rimmed glasses.
