A section of US-24 highway being reconstructed northeast of Topeka was the scene of patching projects in 1999 and 2007, Kansas Department of Transportation spokeswoman Kim Qualls confirmed this past week.
KDOT recently began the pavement reconstruction project on the 5.3-mile stretch of US-24 in western Jefferson County.
The section runs from just west of the Muddy Creek bridge in Grantville to just east of US-24’s junction with K-237 highway.
Work began this past week on the project, causing varying lane closures for eastbound and westbound traffic on US-24.
