Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0754 PM CDT Mon Aug 01 2022 Valid 020100Z - 021200Z ...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN INDIANA...KENTUCKY AND SOUTHERN OHIO... ...SUMMARY... Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms, with damaging gusts will be possible into tonight across parts of the Ohio Valley. Isolated severe gusts and large hail also are possible across parts of northern Nebraska to western Iowa for a few more hours this evening. ...Ohio Valley Vicinity... Minor adjustments have been made to the Marginal and Slight risk areas based on ongoing convective trends and latest model guidance. The severe threat may largely be confined to western portions of the Slight risk area. However, additional storms are developing further east across southern OH, and also upstream across northern Ohio as another shortwave impulse is ejecting across the region this evening. Given uncertainty in evolution of the severe threat into the early overnight hours, will maintain severe probabilities for much of the region. ...Mid-MS Valley vicinity... Marginal risk probabilities have been removed from parts of east-central MO and west-central IL. Little if any convection is expected to develop along this corridor near the MS River the remainder of the period. ...Nebraska/Iowa... Isolated strong to severe storms are ongoing across parts of northern NE this evening. This activity may persist and/or increase as it spreads east the next several hours. Only minor adjustments to the Marginal risk have been made across Iowa. ..Leitman.. 08/02/2022
