Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0748 PM CDT Thu Jul 28 2022 Valid 290100Z - 291200Z ...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ALONG PORTIONS OF THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEAST COAST... ...SUMMARY... Strong gusts may continue over the next 1-2 hours across parts of the Mid-Atlantic and coastal New England. ...01z Update... Severe probabilities have been removed from the High Plains as modest instability and increasing inhibition with loss of daytime heating will limit severe potential. Sporadic gusty winds may continue another 1-2 hours, but overall severe potential should rapidly decrease this evening. Severe probabilities have also been removed along the slowly southward sagging surface front from the Ozarks into much of the eastern U.S. as damaging wind potential has decreased with increasing boundary-layer inhibition and weak shear. The Slight risk has also been removed from the Northeast, with Marginal probabilities continuing from the Mid-Atlantic to New England coastal vicinity ahead of the cold front. Sporadic strong gusts may continue with storms along the cold front another 1-2 hours before convection weakens and or moves offshore. Severe Thunderstorm Watch 506 is set to expire at 02z and local extensions are not currently anticipated. ..Leitman.. 07/29/2022
