Areas affected...the central FL Peninsula

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 47...

Valid 162053Z - 162230Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 47
continues.

SUMMARY...As ongoing storms move near and off the Atlantic coast,
potential for additional strong/severe thunderstorm development is
uncertain, but a conditional risk for hail and locally damaging
winds remains.

DISCUSSION...At 2045Z, widely scattered strong/potentially severe
thunderstorms are ongoing along the Florida Atlantic coast, from
near Daytona Beach southward to near Melbourne to just north of West
Palm Beach. These storms will continue to pose a threat of hail and
locally damaging wind as they move offshore by 21-22Z.

In the wake of these storms, additional strong/severe development
remains uncertain across the central FL Peninsula. Weak convection
is ongoing north of an outflow boundary which lies from south of
Sarasota east-northeastward to near Melbourne, but this activity may
struggle to intensify as the boundary continues to sag southward.
However, additional thunderstorm development remains possible along
the outflow boundary and also along a sea breeze boundary, where
towering cumulus is still noted on visible satellite. Any such
development would pose a conditional risk of hail and locally
damaging wind, given the presence of MLCAPE in the 1500-2000 J/kg
range and effective shear of 30-40 kt.
