Mesoscale Discussion 0298
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0740 PM CDT Mon Mar 21 2022

Areas affected...South-central/Southeast Oklahoma

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 55...

Valid 220040Z - 220215Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 55
continues.

SUMMARY...Severe threat continues across southeast Oklahoma.

DISCUSSION...Surface low is lifting northeast into south-central OK
and appears to be just north of SPS. Warm front has struggled to
advance appreciably north due to extensive convection across eastern
OK. Even so, remnants of one long-lived supercell that developed
over TX are now into Coal County where it appears to be increasingly
elevated along the northern edge of an elongated squall line. Very
strong low-level warm advection will continue to support strong/
severe elevated convection across central/eastern portions of ww55
with large hail and isolated damaging winds remaining possible.
