Areas affected...south-central Oklahoma southwest into portions of
central Texas

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 189...

Valid 062337Z - 070130Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 189
continues.

SUMMARY...Severe risk -- mainly in the form of large hail and
locally damaging wind gusts -- is ongoing in conjunction with storms
in progress across parts of northern and central Texas.

DISCUSSION...Latest radar loop shows a cluster of storms ongoing
across western North Texas and the Big Country region, near and just
ahead of a western Texas dryline extending from east of Childress to
west of San Angelo. The storms are occurring on the northwestern
fringe of rich Gulf moisture (low 70s dewpoints) being advected
northwestward across the eastern half of Texas ahead of the dryline,
which is supporting strong instability (mixed-layer CAPE in excess
of 2500 J/kg).

With low-level southeasterlies veering/increasing to around 40kt at
mid levels, shear sufficient to support updraft rotation has
sustained several supercells, which have produced hail up to golf
ball size. As the low-level southeasterlies increase nocturnally
into this evening, storms will continue to redevelop across the
north Texas vicinity, along with continued severe threat.
