Areas affected...southern Oklahoma to central Texas

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 189...

Valid 070131Z - 070330Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 189
continues.

SUMMARY...Severe risk continues across central and North Texas and
into southern Oklahoma.

DISCUSSION...Strong/severe storms continue to spread
eastward/northeastward across much of WW 189, as an associated cold
cloud shield exhibiting classic MCC characteristics is expanding
across much of Oklahoma and the northern half of Texas with the
exception of the Panhandles.

Beneath the cold cloud shield, radar continues to indicate multiple
intense/rotating storms, with accompanying large hail risk. Expect
convection to continue spreading eastward with time, and given the
amply unstable airmass east of the ongoing storms, a new WW may
eventually be required. In the shorter term, storms are fairly
well-contained within the existing bounds of WW 189.
