URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 195 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 120 PM CDT Sun May 7 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Central and Southern Illinois Western Kentucky East Central and Southeast Missouri * Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 120 PM until 900 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are beginning to form along a weak boundary across western Illinois. These storms will expand in coverage through the afternoon, with a risk of large hail and damaging wind gusts in the strongest cells. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles north northwest of Springfield IL to 40 miles south of Paducah KY.
