The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  South central Texas

* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 755 PM
  until 200 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...A large cluster/line of storms will persist into the
overnight hours while moving eastward into a moist, unstable
environment across south central Texas.  The primary threats will be
occasional damaging gusts of 60-70 mph and isolated large hail of
1-1.5 inches in diameter.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55
statute miles east and west of a line from 60 miles north northwest
of San Antonio TX to 55 miles south of Cotulla TX. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
