URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 220 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 755 PM CDT Fri May 12 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of South central Texas * Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 755 PM until 200 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...A large cluster/line of storms will persist into the overnight hours while moving eastward into a moist, unstable environment across south central Texas. The primary threats will be occasional damaging gusts of 60-70 mph and isolated large hail of 1-1.5 inches in diameter. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles east and west of a line from 60 miles north northwest of San Antonio TX to 55 miles south of Cotulla TX.
