The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Extreme eastern New Mexico
  Western parts of Texas South Plains

* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 1100 PM
  until 400 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
    inches in diameter possible
  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY...Isolated to widely scattered supercells linger across this
region, with additional development possible mainly along and north
of an outflow boundary over the southern parts of the watch.  Large
hail and a few severe gusts are the main concerns.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles south southeast
of Hobbs NM to 35 miles northeast of Cannon Afb NM. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
