URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 41 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1235 PM EST Thu Mar 10 2022 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Central Florida Coastal Waters * Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 1235 PM until 900 PM EST. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...A line of thunderstorms over the Gulf of Mexico will move inland over the west-central Florida peninsula this afternoon, while more isolated intense cells form farther east. Locally damaging wind gusts appear to be the main threat from the strongest cells, but hail and an isolated tornado are possible. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles north and south of a line from 25 miles west southwest of Saint Petersburg FL to 30 miles northeast of Melbourne FL.
