URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 214 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1135 PM CDT Thu May 11 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Southeast Oklahoma * Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 1135 PM until 400 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... A couple tornadoes possible Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...A cluster of thunderstorms with embedded supercells will likely persist for a few hours while moving slowly eastward toward the McAlester area. A couple of tornadoes and isolated damaging winds/large hail will be possible with these storms. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 40 statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles north of Mcalester OK to 40 miles south of Mcalester OK.
