URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 241 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 220 PM MDT Fri May 26 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Eastern New Mexico Southwest Texas * Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 220 PM until 1000 PM MDT. * Primary threats include... A couple tornadoes possible Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3 inches in diameter likely Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible SUMMARY...Intense supercell thunderstorms are expected to form this afternoon along the higher terrain of southeast NM into southwest TX. These storms will track eastward into a progressively more favorable environment for very large hail and a few tornadoes. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles east and west of a line from 70 miles west northwest of Tucumcari NM to 60 miles southeast of Marfa TX.
