The Kansas Firefighter Museum has announced the 13 stars of the next Kansas Firefighter Calendar.

Two of the calendar selections are from the Caney Fire Department: firefighters Mark VanDyne and Kyle Kuehn.

VanDyne is no stranger to the calendar, having earned placement in the 2013 firefighters’ calendar.

All calendar selections are active, retired or volunteer Kansas firefighters. They include Jeremy Carter, Wichita Airport Authority; John Darling, Lawrence Fire Department; Luke Freeman, Garden City Fire Department; Bill Gibbs, Sedgwick County Fire Department; Bryan Hall, Chanute Fire Department; Justin Kennel, Liberal Fire Department; Aaron Lock, Boeing Fire Department; Mark Newton, Salina Fire Department; Todd Nix, Sedgwick County Fire Department; Adam Patterson, Garden City Fire Department; and Dean Snepp, Goodyear Tire and Rubber’s fire department in Topeka.

Pro-Tec firefighter Chris Johnston and Ford County firefighter Kelli Henson—this year’s sole female contestant—also competed at the calendar’s annual judging event, which took place June 28 in Wichita. Finalists were selected based on fitness and community involvement.

Proceeds from calendar sales benefit the Coats for Kids Project, which distributes winter apparel to children in need, and the Kansas Firefighters Museum, 1300 S. Broadway.

The calendar is produced by the all-volunteer staff of the Kansas Firefighters Museum. For more information, go to www.kansasfirefightercalendar.com or search for Kansas Firefighter Calendar on Facebook.
