KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Despite a Wednesday request from the Kansas governor that it stop doing so, the Kansas City district office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said Thursday it would continue to release water from Milford, Tuttle Creek and Perry reservoirs as a means of providing navigation support to the Missouri River.
Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback had asked the Corps to stop releases from the three state reservoirs as a means of increasing water resources in drought-plagued Kansas.
