Valley Center firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 250 E. Allen early November 25. Everyone was evacuated from the apartment before emergency crews arrived.
The renter told police that there was a flame near the heater, so she shut off the heater and got everyone out of the residence.
Police said minor smoke was visible, but there was no flame when officers arrived.
