Diehard fans endure heat for music they love

MANHATTAN – The thousands of country music fans who braved a high of 100 and a heat index 6 degrees higher Sunday would have appreciated thousands of fans on the closing day of The Big 94.5 Country Stampede.

The 17th edition of the annual country music and camping festival at Tuttle Creek State Park north of Manhattan ended with The Band Perry playing to a smaller than anticipated crowd given the the star power of the sibling trio who has won industry honors and scored hit songs despite only having one CD on the market.
