Just after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical units were called to 931 Chalk Hill Court for a house fire. Initial scanner traffic indicated that the home was fully engulfed in flames.
The police scanner indicated that fire units battled the fire for about 30 minutes before they entered the home.
Neighbors told our reporter on the scene that an electric heater caught on fire, but everyone was safe.
