Grass fires along K-96 under control

KAKE – December 16, 2013

Firefighters have gotten several grass fires under control along a northeast Wichita highway.

Shortly after 10 a.m., crews were dispatched to a grass fire near K-96 and Webb Road. When they arrived, they found several fires burning north of the highway between Webb and Greenwich.

Although the fires were near the highway, the smoke blew north and there were no traffic issues.
