MFD Reponds To Large Structure Fire

The Manhattan Fire Department responded to a structure fire late Friday night.

Six fire apparatus and sixteen firefighters responded to the incident at 3144 Ella Lane at around 10:45 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found a two story residential structure with light smoke coming from the rear of the structure.

The fire appeared to start in the rear exterior wall of the structure and was contained within 15 minutes to the immediate area.

No injuries were reported, however, the house had four occupants at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Total loss is estimated around $5,000.
