Rural Fire Dept. No. 10 receives $3,000 grant

The Washington County Rural Fire Department No. 10, Hanover and Hollenberg, has received State approval for a Volunteer Fire Assistance (VFA) Grant this year, according to Kansas Forest Service Fire Management Coordinator, Ross Hauck.

The grants, made available through the Federal Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act, will total $261,000 statewide this year. Washington County Rural Fire Department No. 10 will receive $3,000 of the total.

According to board members, Ron Jueneman, Travis Graff, Brad Schwartz and Rick Pralle, Washington Co. Rural Fire Department No. 10 will purchase turnout gear for the volunteer firemen and radios for some of the trucks.
