Santa Claus arrives on fire truck to cheer kids in hospital

The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department, with members of Local 64 of the International Association of Firefighters, visited children at the University of Kansas Hospital pediatric intensive care unit on Tuesday in Kansas City, Kan.

Santa Claus arrived on a fire truck bringing presents to children who will be spending the holidays in the hospital.

Gifts were given to 19 children, ages 9 months to 18 years of age.

Firefighters also donated $4,000 to the pediatric intensive care unit to be used for the benefit of the children while they are in hospital.

This brings the total donated by firefighters over the last five years to nearly $12,000. All monies were raised by Local 64 and Firefighters Relief Association.
