Sheriff's deputies wait to speak with victims

Shawnee County sheriff’s detectives are waiting for the conditions of three people who were critically wounded Friday night northeast of Topeka to improve so they can talk with them and develop leads and possible suspects in the case.

Shawnee County Sheriff Herman Jones on Saturday afternoon said neighbors were able to provide investigators with information about someone seen running from a residence at 4335 N.E. Meriden Road, where the trio was shot around 6:45 p.m. Friday.
