Around 2:29 p.m. Thursday, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office along with Reading Fire Department, District 2 Fire Department (Allen/Admire), and Miller Fire Department responded to a house fire at 2572 Road P in rural Lyon County.
Upon Deputies arrival there was smoke and flames coming out of the upstairs windows.
The home owner, Wayne McMurphy, 48, was home at the time with his daughter, Ashley, 25. They were both able to get out of the house without injuries.
The investigation into the fire continues. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined according to a press release from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
