White powder found at downtown post office was Tylenol, cocaine

KAKE – December 9, 2013

Authorities have cleared the scene after a bag containing a white powdery substance was discovered Monday afternoon at Wichita’s downtown post office.

Police and Hazmat crews were called around 4 p.m. to the post office at 330 West 2nd Street North after a mail carrier reportedly found a white powdery substance inside.

The white powder turned out to be a bag containing a mixture of crushed Tylenol and cocaine. Hazmat crews left the scene just before 5:30 p.m.

The parking lot had been blocked off as crews investigated, but the building was not evacuated.

Officials at the post office declined to comment.
