Northern Franklin County in east central Kansas…
Southern Jefferson County in northeastern Kansas…
Southern Shawnee County in east central Kansas…
Southeastern Wabaunsee County in east central Kansas…
Douglas County in east central Kansas…
Osage County in east central Kansas…
Northeastern Lyon County in east central Kansas…
* Until 530 PM CST.
* At 451 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Topeka to 3 miles southeast of Auburn to 4 miles
northeast of Reading, moving east at 60 mph.
THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS!
HAZARD…80 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE…Trained weather spotters. These storms have produced
widespread wind damage and winds around 80 mph.
IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.
* Locations impacted include…
Topeka, Lawrence, Ottawa, Baldwin City, Osage City, Carbondale,
Tecumseh, Eudora, Richland, Wellsville, Dover, Auburn, Overbrook,
Lyndon, Centropolis, Burlingame, Perry, Pomona, Scranton and
Lecompton.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 35 between mile markers 187 and 198.
Interstate 70 between mile markers 349 and 355.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 143 and 205.

building.
This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing
widespread wind damage across east central Kansas. SEEK SHELTER NOW
