* WHAT…For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow, sleet, and light
freezing rain expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 1
to 4 inches and light ice accumulations of a few hundredths of
an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Very cold wind chills
as low as 20 below zero expected Saturday through Sunday morning.
* WHERE…Portions of central, east central and northeast Kansas.
* WHEN…For the Winter Weather Advisory, until midnight CST
tonight. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from midnight tonight to
11 AM CST Sunday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The cold wind chills as
low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in
as little as 30 minutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Very cold wind chills Saturday through
Sunday morning could be dangerous for vulnerable populations
and those that may become stranded in their vehicles.
