Rescue crews searched the Missouri River near Interstate 435 after a report of an overturned boat.
The Kansas City, KS, Fire Department was called about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Three boats were put in the water, and found an abandoned boat.
Officials determined that the boat had been abandoned and that no one was in the water. Crews were pulling the boat out of the water to avoid creating additional concern from those traveling nearby.
The fire department looked east of I-435 because that is where the current is heading.
