City, county announce road closings

The city of Topeka engineering’s traffic section and the Shawnee County public works have announced the following road closings:

— The N.E. 54th and Meriden Road intersection will be closed for a tube replacement for two weeks beginning Monday.

— Beginning Monday, traffic on S.W. Fairlawn between S.W. 17th and S.W. 23rd will be moved into the outer lanes each direction to allow for manhole and valve box adjustments to be completed after the asphalt overlay. The area will reopen to normal traffic flow on Oct. 31.
