Butler County Fire Lieutenant Judd Gifford, left and firefighter Chad Sterrett demonstrate stabilizing a trauma patient to the Health Science Academy students at the Rose Hill High School Wednesday, September 11. The firefighters spoke to the students regarding the role of the first responder in emergencies and disaster situations. The Academy will be offering Emergency Medical Technician training during the spring semester for 17 year-old non-academy students. The 11 hour course will be covered through the CTE funding at a very low cost with space for only 11 students.
