Grand jury indicts in arson, drug cases

A federal grand jury Wednesday in Topeka indicted a man charged with arson in a Manhattan apartment complex fire, three Topekans accused of counterfeiting and two Arizona residents charged with possessing 109 pounds of cocaine in Shawnee County.

Barry Grissom, U.S. attorney for Kansas, identified those indicted as:

— Juan Luis Diaz, 48, and Rosa Amelia R. Gomez, 50, both of Casa Grande, Ariz., who were charged with possession with intent to distribute 109 pounds, or more than 5 kilograms, of cocaine. The crime is alleged to have been committed Feb. 2 in Shawnee County.
