Registration deadline for GOP caucus

The Republican caucus for Jefferson County voters will be March 10 at the Ozawkie American Legion Hall, reports party secretary Ron Ellis. People must be a registered Republican by Feb. 17.

County Democrat Chairman Larry Bigham reports that his party will hold a caucus April 14 but the details have not been worked out. He will announce soon the location and who is allowed to vote in the caucus.

Voters can register at the courthouse or with city hall in most cities or online with the Jefferson County Clerk or the Kansas Secretary of State.

The next public elections in Jefferson County will be April 3.

They include a bond issue in Jefferson West, USD 340 and three council positions in the city of McLouth.

The deadline to register for these elections is March 13.
