Local firefighters pose Monday in front of a new pumper truck that arrived that afternoon at the Arkansas City Fire-EMS Department. The 2013 Pierce Dash CF PUC (Pierce Ultimate Configuration) fire apparatus was modified to ACFD specifications, said Fire-EMS Chief Bobby Wolfe. The truck is safer for department personnel, and has a bigger pump and more storage space than previous models, Wolfe said. It carries a 750-gallon water tank that pumps at 1,500 gallons per minute; 1,000 feet of 3-inch hose; and three 1.75 inch attack lines, as well as a 2.5 inch attack line and a 1,000-GPM deck gun.
