Two file for county office

The Jefferson County Clerk’s office reports two county filings so far in this election year.

Wayne Ledbetter, Perry, has filed on the Republican ticket for the office of county commissioner for the Second District.

Linda M. Buttron, Nortonville, has filed for re-election of the office of county clerk. Buttron was appointed to the office to replace Shirley Walbridge and then was first elected in 2000. She’s a Republican.

The Second District commissioner district consists of Rock Creek, Kentucky, W. Fairview, and Kaw townships and is now represented by former sheriff Roy Dunnaway.

Seven of the eight county officials are up for election this year. The First District county commissioner term is staggered and was on the ballot two years ago.
