A man suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon after the car he was driving careened into a telephone pole and flipped onto its top.
Topeka police were on scene about 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of S.E. 8th and Deer Creek Trafficway on a report of a one-vehicle rollover accident.
The vehicle was traveling southbound on Deer Creek Trafficway when it left the roadway and rolled up the telephone poll, cracking the pole in half and landing the vehicle upside down in the roadway.
Officers are investigating possible intoxication, said Cpl. Jason Harwood.
A white man was loaded onto a gurney and transported to a local hospital from the scene. He was considered to be in fair condition and could be heard talking to emergency responders.
The scene blocked southbound traffic on Deer Creek Trafficway between 6th and 8th streets.
